A foreigner can stay in Lithuania without a permit until three months. After that period a permit is obligatory.

The most popular type of activity is limited liability company. Minimal stock capital is 10 thousand Litas. Each company starting its activity registers in the State Register. Entry costs 110$. To the application one has to attach: data of the shareholders, sum of the stock capital, name of the company, address, name of the Manager, period of activity, name of the Board Members and the Supervisory Board members, certificate from bank stating that the stock capital was paid in, valuation of the contribution certified by the independent auditor. After the visit in the State Register, a company must be registered In the Inland Revenue and Social Insurance Institution. Each company in Lithuania must posses a bank account.
