Company in Czech Republic, Business in Czech Republic

Everyone staying in the Czech Republic longer than for three months, should turn to Police for the residence permit (department for the foreigners). The application is not obligatory, but might simplify many official contacts. It is also advisable to obtain identification number.

The sole trading activity in Czech Republic can be divided into: crafts (what requires certificates and relevant education), combined activity (requires certificates obtained in different way) and free activity (no requirements). The major document is entrepreneur card and the license in a form of a letter.

If the foreign company wishes to render services for sorter time than three months, there is no need to register in Police department.

The private persons do not have to register in the Trade Register. The entrepreneurs coming from one of the EU countries obtain the permit to carry out the activity in the moment of the advertisement about the start of activity.

The most popular type of the activity is a private limited liability company. The minimal start-up capital is 200 000 crowns. The company can be established by one or more persons. In case there is one person to establish a company, the Articles of Association is replaced by a notarized Act of Establishment.

To register a company in the Trade Register the following documents are required:
- Application form,
- Notarized Articles of Association or Establishment Act,
- Notarized entrepreneur card,
- Declaration about the payment of the stock capital,
- Declaration of the proxy about fulfilling the major conditions,
- Declaration about unpunishability of all the proxies.
